Public Health France Barometers

The Santé publique France Health Barometer: a survey of health-related behaviors, opinions, and knowledge designed to guide public health prevention and education policies.

In 2021, Santé publique France launched the thirteenth edition of the Health Barometers with the aim of guiding public health prevention and public information policies.

As with previous editions of this initiative, the survey method relies on the random generation of landline and mobile phone numbers.

Fieldwork for the survey began on February 11, 2021, and concluded on December 15, 2021. In total, 24,514 people aged 18 to 85 residing in metropolitan France and speaking French completed the entire questionnaire, which took an average of thirty-six minutes to complete. This large sample will enable the provision of regional estimates.

A wide range of topics were addressed with all or some of the participants: the environment, addictions (tobacco, alcohol), vaccination, diet and physical activity, the health of older adults, COVID-19, mental health, suicidal behavior, antibiotic resistance, foodborne infections, musculoskeletal disorders, and activities with a risk of accidents.
