2024 Annual Report
The 2024 Annual Report from Santé publique France takes stock of a year of initiatives dedicated to the health of all and our commitment to pursuing our threefold mission: monitoring the health status of the population, protecting against, anticipating, and responding to health risks, and preventing illness through public education and health promotion. In this issue: the Olympic Games and epidemic surveillance, health crisis management in Mayotte, mental health, survey results… Every day, the agency contributes to improving everyone’s health and strengthening the resilience of our healthcare system.
The year 2024 demonstrated the adaptability of the public health ecosystem. The Olympic and Paralympic Games mobilized all our departments, showcasing our ability to anticipate and respond to health challenges of exceptional magnitude. Surveillance of emerging infectious diseases (avian flu, measles, chikungunya, etc.), and the management of the consequences of the water crisis and Cyclone Chido’s passage through Mayotte confirmed the importance of our local presence and our capacity for immediate response to emergencies.
All these challenges provided an opportunity to deploy promising innovations, such as the active surveillance protocol for avian influenza (SAGA) or the organization of a network of hospitals involved in epidemiological surveillance and emergency response (Orchidée). The agency is also actively working to integrate artificial intelligence into its processes and data analysis.
Above all, this annual report highlights the richness of our collaborations with a vast network of partners in the fields of health, research, and civil society.
