2025–2030 Strategy to Address Major Public Health Challenges
Santé publique France, the national public health agency, provides unique scientific expertise to support the development of prevention, protection, and the improvement of health for all, tailored to regional specificities. This expertise is carried out through a three-pronged mission: monitoring the health status of populations; protecting against, anticipating, and responding to health risks; and, finally, preventing health issues through public information and health promotion.
These missions, defined in the Public Health Code*, make the agency a key player in decision support, as well as in the definition, management, and evaluation of public health policies.
Santé publique France approaches health in all its physical and mental dimensions, taking into account chronic or infectious diseases, the impact of the environment, and occupational health. Its constant goal is to promote environments and behaviors conducive to health. Through its sixteen regional offices, the agency is deeply rooted in local communities, enabling it to address the needs and specific characteristics of each region.
