* The significant decline in 2008 corresponds to the discontinuation of the multi-puncture BCG vaccine in January 2006, but the large number of missing data points in 2008 requires a cautious interpretation of this figure. Except in the Île-de-France region (and French Guiana), data from 2009 onward are uninterpretable due to the absence of information in the health certificate indicating whether the child belongs to the target population for the vaccination recommendation. National analysis of BCG data from the 24-month health certificates will therefore only be possible after the new certificates have been distributed throughout France.

* In this survey, 48% of the children surveyed were born in 2007 before the mandatory vaccination requirement was lifted in July 2007, and 52% after that date. The latter group, for whom vaccination is recommended only in specific cases, could not be identified in the 2012–2013 survey due to the absence of this information in the questionnaire. These data do not allow for an estimate of national vaccination coverage in the target population.
