Whooping Cough in the Hauts-de-France Region. As of September 6, 2024.

Key Points

Following a call for heightened vigilance in April 2024 due to a resurgence of pertussis in Europe and France, Santé publique France confirmed in June that a new epidemic cycle had begun this year.

In the Hauts-de-France region, pertussis-related visits to SOS Médecins and emergency departments had been increasing since Week 16, reaching levels higher than in previous years, with a peak observed in late July during Week 31 of 2024. A decrease was observed starting in Week 32, followed by a stabilization of activity at a moderate level in emergency departments and a high level at SOS Médecins.
