What We Do
Santé publique France monitors the epidemiological status of influenza and promotes vaccination and preventive measures against the flu.
The annual influenza epidemic is widespread, resulting in a significant number of deaths, particularly among the most vulnerable populations. Indeed, its high contagiousness and vaccination coverage that falls well short of the required target make it a major public health challenge. In this context, Santé publique France’s mission focuses on two main areas:
monitoring the epidemiological status of the flu and assessing its impact on public health
promoting vaccination and preventive measures against the flu, particularly during epidemic periods
