A Highly Connected Daily Life

Over the past twenty years, digital technology has revolutionized daily life in France. By 2025, 94% of the population uses the Internet; smartphones are ubiquitous; and shopping and administrative tasks are handled online. However, the picture is mixed: people without a high school diploma and those with low incomes face greater difficulties, and a fairly large proportion of 18- to 24-year-olds feel that the Internet does not make their lives easier. As for social media, many people feel they spend too much time in front of screens.
