Addressing Sleep and Daily Routines at School

Nicole Rivière educates children—including very young children—and raises awareness among parents about the functions of sleep. She helps early childhood professionals (childcare providers, daycare centers) and teachers in the Vaucluse department better understand children’s sleep patterns. Several educational initiatives have been implemented in schools to encourage the practice of a proper nap—ranging from twenty minutes to an hour and a half—which meets the physiological needs of most preschoolers. “Before being a concern, sleep is a pleasure,” she emphasizes.
