Key Points

Flu

  • OSCOUR®: The number of emergency department visits for flu-like illness, across all age groups, increased slightly in week 41 of 2023. The proportion of activity remains low and at levels similar to those observed last year.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like symptoms, across all age groups, fluctuated in week 41 of 2023, representing a 4% share of activity, higher than that observed during the same period in the previous two years.

Bronchiolitis

  • OSCOUR®: In week 41 of 2023, the proportion of activity related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age in emergency departments remained stable compared to the previous week. It stood at 5.1%, or 74 visits. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit was 11.3%.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 41 of 2023, the proportion of SOS Médecins’ activity related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age remained stable. It stood at 5.4%, representing 26 consultations.

COVID-19

  • OSCOUR®: In week 41-2023, the number of emergency department visits for COVID-19 increased (344 visits compared to 269 in week 40-2023), representing 1.3% of total activity.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 41-2023, the number of SOS Médecins consultations for COVID-19 decreased (204 consultations compared to 281 in week 40-2023), representing 3% of the activity of SOS Médecins associations in the region.
