Key Points

COVID-19

  • In week 17 of 2023, the incidence rate continued to decline (69 cases per 100,000 people, compared to 91 in week 16 of 2023).

  • The incidence rate is decreasing across all age groups. The lowest incidence rate is still observed among those aged 0–9 (11 cases per 100,000 inhabitants). The highest incidence rate is still observed among those aged 80 and older (161 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

  • Departmental incidence rates are decreasing in all departments compared to the previous week, except in Aube, where it remains stable. The highest incidence rate is observed in Meurthe-et-Moselle (86 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) and the lowest is observed in Haute-Marne (35 cases per 100,000 inhabitants).

  • The positivity rate (17%) is slightly lower than the previous week.

  • The testing rate is 403 tests per 100,000 inhabitants in week 17 of 2023; it is declining across all age groups.

Influenza and Influenza-Like Illnesses

  • OSCOUR®: In week 17-2023, the number of emergency department visits for influenza-like illness, across all ages, continued to decline (49 compared to 87 in week 16-2023). The proportion of cases is also decreasing, with 0.2% of emergency department visits related to influenza.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, across all age groups, continues to decline (199 consultations compared to 268 in Week 16 of 2023), representing 4.1% of total activity.

Acute Gastroenteritis

  • OSCOUR®: The number of emergency department visits for acute gastroenteritis (AGI), all ages, is stable compared to the previous week, with 273 visits in Week 17 of 2023, representing 1.2% of total activity.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for acute gastroenteritis (AGI), all ages, is down compared to the previous week, with 401 consultations (compared to 549 in W16-2023), representing a 6.6% share of activity.
