LVR Clinic in Cologne: A Hospital Attuned to Cultural Sensitivities [Interview]
At the Cologne Psychiatric Clinic, healthcare staff are trained in intercultural communication, and professional interpretation and mediation services are available to improve care for patients from diverse cultural backgrounds. The evaluation demonstrates the extensive use of integration mediators across the facility’s various departments, as well as the value of this approach. This integration initiative also serves another purpose: in light of the labor shortage, it aims to facilitate the integration of healthcare staff from other countries and cultures.
