  • Measles resurgence since November 2017

  • Decline in the number of new weekly cases: rapid following the epidemic peak (Weeks 13–18), then stabilization with an average of 50 reported cases per week (Weeks 19–23)

  • As of June 24, 2018, 2,567 cases reported since November 6, 2017

  • 84 departments have reported at least 1 case; this number has remained stable since the last bulletin

  • Since Week 13, a decrease in the number of cases in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with no active outbreaks

  • Highest incidence among children under 1 year of age: 27.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

  • 22% of reported cases were hospitalized

  • 88% of measles cases occurred in unvaccinated or inadequately vaccinated individuals

  • Death of a 26-year-old and a 17-year-old in critical condition: both were immunocompromised and likely infected by an unvaccinated family member
