  • Measles resurgence since November 2017

  • Decline in the number of new weekly cases: rapid following the epidemic peak (Weeks 13–18), then stabilization at around 40 cases per week (Weeks 21–26) and an average of around 20 cases over the past three weeks

  • As of July 29, 2018, 2,741 cases reported since November 6, 2017

  • 86 departments reported at least 1 case during the period, but currently only 2 regions still have active outbreaks

  • Since Week 13, the number of cases has decreased in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with no active outbreaks

  • Highest incidence among children under 1 year of age: 29.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

  • 22% of reported cases were hospitalized

  • 89% of measles cases occurred in unvaccinated or inadequately vaccinated individuals

  • 3 deaths since the beginning of 2018
