Key Points

COVID-19

  • In S44, viral circulation appears to be on the rise again. The number of active conventional hospitalizations is trending downward, while the number in intensive care remains stable.

Chikungunya, Dengue, Zika

  • Surveillance for cases of chikungunya, dengue, and Zika began on May 1 and ends on November 30. In Corsica, one episode of local dengue transmission was confirmed in week 40.

Bronchiolitis

  • Epidemic phase

  • SOS Médecins - 21 consultations for bronchiolitis were conducted in Week 44, accounting for 15.1% of all consultations for children under 2 years of age, an increase compared to Week 43 (13.6%).

  • Emergency departments - 10 visits for bronchiolitis were recorded in emergency departments in Week 44, representing 11.8% of all consultations for children under 2 years of age, a decrease compared to Week 42 (19 visits, representing 20.6% of consultations). In addition, 4 hospitalizations for bronchiolitis were recorded following an emergency department visit among children under 2 years of age in Week 44 (vs. 5 the previous week).

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Emergency departments: low activity

  • SOS Médecins associations: low activity

  • Sentinelles network: moderate activity.
