COVID-19

In S17, viral circulation has declined sharply, but indicators remain at a high level. The number of active hospitalizations across all departments is stable but remains very high, and the number of patients in intensive care is increasing.

Flu

  • 7th epidemic week

  • Emergency departments - Twenty visits related to flu-like illness were recorded in emergency departments in Week 17, representing 1.1% of total emergency department visits. This proportion is slightly lower than the previous week (1.6%). Two hospitalizations were recorded in Week 17, compared to 3 the previous week.

  • SOS Médecins - Fifty-two consultations for influenza-like illness were conducted by SOS Médecins in Week 17, representing 4.0% of total activity. This proportion is lower than in the previous week (4.9%).

  • Sentinelles Network - In Week 17, the incidence rate for influenza-like illnesses, not yet finalized, is 157 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [26; 288]). In week 16, this rate was 225 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [92; 358]).

  • Virological surveillance - In total, since the start of surveillance (week 2021-S40), 3 rhinoviruses, 1 enterovirus, 1 parainfluenza virus, 4 metapneumoviruses, 2 SARS-CoV-2, 3 RSV, 6 influenza A H3N2, 5 seasonal coronaviruses, and 1 adenovirus have been isolated by physicians in the Sentinelles network from a total of 38 specimens.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Low activity.

  • Emergency departments - Emergency department activity related to gastroenteritis in Week 17 is stable or even slightly lower compared to the previous week. It accounts for 1.9% of emergency department activity (vs. 2.2% the previous week).

  • SOS Médecins - Activity at the SOS Médecins association related to gastroenteritis in Week 17 increased slightly compared to the previous week. It accounted for 2.8% of the association’s total activity (vs. 2.2% the previous week).

  • Sentinelles Network - In Week 17, the incidence rate was 36 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [0; 84]). In Week 16, this rate was 44 per 100,000 inhabitants (95% CI [0; 104]).
