COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Corsica, May 14, 2020
Key indicators
Sentinelles network: incidence of acute respiratory infections of 32 per 100,000 inhabitants in S19 (26 in S18);
SOS-Médecins: 4% of consultations were COVID-19-related in Week 19 (6% in Week 18);
laboratories (community and hospital-based): 28 positive test results out of 1,661 samples analyzed in Week 19, representing a positivity rate of 2% (3% in Week 18);
Emergency departments: 2% of visits were COVID-19-related in Week 19 (5% in Week 18);
Nursing homes: no new cases among residents since May 6. Thirteen residents have died in nursing homes and 9 after hospitalization;
Hospitalized cases (SI-VIC): 51 patients hospitalized as of May 12, including 9 in intensive care;
ICU units: regardless of age, 69% of cases had at least one risk factor, and the median time to ICU admission was 8 days;
all-cause mortality: a decrease compared to week S17 (data not yet consolidated, particularly in Southern Corsica, due to a technical issue).
