Identify and have occupational diseases recognized.

Established in 1992, the Martigues Municipal Health Observatory centralizes information on occupational diseases and promotes networking. The observatory has made it possible to better identify—and subsequently recognize—health conditions linked to working conditions. This initiative has been designated a "best practice" by the European "Closing the Gap" program. In particular, because it meets the following two criteria: the participation of the affected workers and the partnership among the professionals involved.
