Over the past week in the region:

• The flu epidemic continues in the region, with influenza A virus isolates predominating;

• ICU units have reported 9 cases of severe influenza over the past month,

• very high number of emergency department visits by people aged 75 and older in most facilities,

• a slight increase in the number of deaths among people aged 85 and older compared to the expected number for the season,

• a high number of clusters of acute respiratory infections (ARI) in facilities housing the elderly, with an increase over the past month in the number of outbreaks meeting severity criteria,

• a moderate gastroenteritis outbreak continues.
