Epidemiological Surveillance in the Pays de la Loire Region. Update as of August 13, 2013.

Over the past week in the region:

  • Enteroviruses responsible for cases of viral meningitis continue to circulate. This circulation is also being observed nationwide, with a predominance of Echovirus 30, which has circulated only sporadically since 2009.

  • Last week, the Nantes metropolitan area experienced significant circulation of Aedes caspius mosquitoes, causing nuisances, partly evidenced by an increase in reports of insect bites by SOS Médecins de Nantes

  • There has been a sharp decrease in the number of heatstroke diagnoses due to lower temperatures.
