Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Although the year is not yet over, the number of confirmed cases of typhoid fever in Mayotte as of September 8, 2015, exceeds the number of cases reported in previous years, and three severe cases, including two requiring admission to the intensive care unit, have been identified. Field investigations are ongoing to identify possible sources of common exposure or geographic clusters of cases.
