Influenza Surveillance in Réunion. Epidemiological Update as of July 19, 2013.
Epidemiological Situation
The flu outbreak that began in June in Réunion has been gradually declining since the start of the school holidays. Although surveillance indicators in community practice and emergency departments have returned to expected seasonal averages, they remain high. The number of identified viruses remains steady, with three types of viruses circulating simultaneously: A(H1N1)pdm09, non-H1N1 A, and B. Since the beginning of June, 12 people who developed severe forms of influenza have been admitted to intensive care.
