Chikungunya

  • 62 new confirmed cases in Week 11 of 2026, a 15% decrease compared to Week 10, bringing the total to 430 cases since the beginning of the year

  • Viral circulation remains active in the region despite a slight decrease in incidence observed over the past two weeks

  • Transmission could continue or intensify, due to weather conditions favorable to mosquito proliferation

Bronchiolitis

  • Decrease in the number of biologically confirmed RSV cases since the epidemic peak observed in Week 09 of 2026

  • Virological indicators on the decline: 21 RSV-positive samples in S11 compared to 31 in S10, with a positivity rate of 43% (vs. 36.5%)

  • High hospital activity among children under 1 year of age: 19 emergency department visits, including 14 hospitalizations (hospitalization rate: 73%)

  • One severe RSV-related case was admitted to the ICU in Week 11. This was a 4-month-old infant who had not received preventive treatment with Beyfortus®
