Dengue Situation in Réunion. Epidemiological Update as of April 17, 2012.
Summary of the epidemiological situation
Over the past two weeks, three cases of dengue fever have been detected: one additional case in the western part of the island, and two cases in Saint-Denis. Viral circulation is likely to intensify because the population’s immunity rate is very low and the current conditions are particularly favorable for the vector. Transition to Alert Level 2B: “Identification of several geographically distinct clusters of locally acquired cases.”
