Dengue Situation in Mayotte. Epidemiological Update as of June 25, 2014.
Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation
All monitored epidemiological indicators (weekly number of biologically confirmed dengue cases, positivity rate, and general practitioners’ activity related to visits for dengue-like syndrome) suggest a decrease in viral circulation in week 25. Nevertheless, circulation appears to remain just as active in Mamoudzou, and local transmission of the virus is still being observed in other parts of the island. Despite the observed decline in indicators, the highest level of vigilance must be maintained to limit the risk of a renewed intensification of circulation.
