Dengue Situation in Mayotte. Epidemiological Update as of January 29, 2014.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

Despite the detection of the first case of locally acquired dengue fever in Mayotte, no active circulation of the virus has currently been identified on the island. However, imported cases from the Comoros continue to be identified, and current weather conditions remain highly conducive to the development of the vector and the transmission of the virus.Heightened vigilance must therefore be maintained, as the establishment of active viral circulation remains likely in Mayotte in the coming weeks.
