Health Recommendations for Travelers, 2013 The new guide to health recommendations for travelers, 2013, intended for healthcare professionals, is available on the website of the French Institute for Public Health Surveillance (BEH, No. 22-23 / June 4, 2013). The recommendations reflect the opinion of the High Council for Public Health (opinion of April 25, 2013). They cover the risks to which travelers are exposed. As a reminder, the rate of travelers who fall ill varies from 15% to 70% depending on the study, based on the type of traveler, destination, and conditions of stay. The recommendations cover: vaccinations, malaria, risks associated with arthropods, risks related to food, transportation, the environment, sexual behavior, and healthcare, as well as precautions tailored to specific groups (children, pregnant women, etc.).
