Key Points

Indicators of emergency room visits from the Oscour® network and SOS Médecins associations:

  • Among adults, visits to emergency departments for mental health issues remain within the usual expected range;

  • Among children, emergency room visits for mental health issues—which were higher than expected in 2021—have not shown any unusual trends over the past two months;

  • Emergency room visits for suicidal ideation among those aged 11 and older have remained higher than expected since early 2021 and primarily involve children aged 11 to 17.

  • Other indicators (Oscour® or SOS Médecins) show no notable changes.

Indicators from the CoviPrev survey:

The latest waves of the COVIPREV survey (waves 31–32) show no significant changes in the monitored indicators. In wave 32 (February 8–15, 2022):

  • nearly 70% of respondents reported sleep problems over the past 8 days (+21 percentage points compared to pre-pandemic levels);

  • 18% reported having anxiety disorders (+4 points compared to pre-pandemic levels);

  • 15% reported depressive symptoms (+5 percentage points compared to pre-pandemic levels);

  • 7% of respondents reported having had suicidal thoughts in the past 12 months (+2 percentage points compared to pre-pandemic levels);

  • 82% report being satisfied with their current life (-3 points compared to pre-pandemic levels).
