Flu indicators stabilize. Pre-epidemic phase for the 11th consecutive week
Week 08-2022 (February 21–27, 2022):
SOS-Médecins1,2: 428 consultations for influenza-like illness recorded, representing 5.1% of total activity (compared to 4.5% in week 07). However, due to a data transmission issue, data has been incomplete since February 16, 2022; this indicator should therefore be interpreted with caution
Oscour®1: 133 emergency department visits for influenza or influenza-like illness, representing 0.5% of total activity (0.6% in week 07), of which 10% resulted in hospitalization. Nearly 70% of visits involved children under 15 years of age (75% in week 07) and, more specifically, children under 5 years of age (47% compared to 51% in week 07)
Virology data:
Influenza A: 13 positive samples at Bordeaux University Hospital, 8 at Limoges University Hospital, and 21 at Poitiers University Hospital, representing a regional positivity rate of 8% (10% in week 07)
Influenza B: no positive samples at the Bordeaux, Limoges, and Poitiers University Hospitals
Severe influenza cases3: one new patient admitted to the ICU reported in week 08, for a total of 12 since the start of surveillance in week 40 of 2021
Clustered cases of acute respiratory infection (ARI) in long-term care facilities (ESMS)⁴: no new clusters reported in week 08
