Influenza Surveillance in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Update as of March 16, 2022.
Key Points
Week 10-2022 (March 7–13, 2022):
SOS-Médecins: 1,232 consultations for flu-like illness recorded, representing 12.1% of total activity (compared to 7.0% in Week 09). However, due to a data transmission issue, data has been incomplete since February 16, 2022; this indicator should therefore be interpreted with caution.
Oscour®: 348 emergency room visits for influenza or influenza-like illness, representing 1.2% of total activity (0.7% in week 09), of which 12% resulted in hospitalization. Nearly 60% of visits involved children under 15 years of age (as in week 09).
Virology data:
Influenza A: 11 positive samples at Bordeaux University Hospital, 29 at Limoges University Hospital, and 51 at Poitiers University Hospital, representing a regional positivity rate of 15% (7% in week 09);
Influenza B: no positive samples at the Bordeaux, Limoges, and Poitiers University Hospitals - Severe influenza cases³: no new patients admitted to intensive care reported in week 10, for a total of 12 since the start of surveillance in week 40 of 2021.

Clustered cases of acute respiratory failure in long-term care facilities: no new episodes reported in week 10.
Mortality from electronic certification: 20 (0.14%) deaths have been reported with influenza listed as the underlying condition that directly caused or contributed to the death since week 40 of 2021, a quarter of which were reported in the last three weeks.
