Key Points
Slight increase in emergency room visits, stabilization of other flu indicators, pre-epidemic phase for the 6th consecutive week
Week 03-2022 (January 17–23, 2022):
SOS-Médecins: 513 consultations for flu-like illness recorded, representing 5.5% of total activity (compared to 6.2% in Week 02)
Oscour®: 169 emergency room visits for influenza or influenza-like illness, representing 0.7% of total activity (compared to 0.5% in Week 02), of which 9% resulted in hospitalization. Nearly 80% of visits involved children under 15 years of age (73% in week 02) and, more specifically, children under 5 years of age (47% compared to 52% in week 02)
Virology data:
Influenza A: 12 positive samples at Bordeaux University Hospital, 12 at Poitiers University Hospital, and 16 at Limoges University Hospital, for a regional positivity rate of 5% (6% in week 02)
Influenza B: no positive samples at the Bordeaux, Limoges, and Poitiers University Hospitals
Severe influenza cases: 1 patient admitted to the ICU in week 03, for a total of 5 since the start of surveillance in week 40-2021
Clustered cases of acute respiratory failure in long-term care facilities: no episodes reported in week 03
