Influenza Surveillance in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Update as of February 24, 2022.

Key Points

Continued increase in the positivity rate for influenza viruses in hospitals, stabilization of other influenza indicators, pre-epidemic phase for the 10th consecutive week

Week 07-2022:

  • SOS-Médecins: 378 consultations for influenza-like illness recorded, representing 4.5% of total activity (compared to 5.2% in week 06). However, due to a data transmission issue, data has been incomplete since February 16, 2022; this indicator should therefore be interpreted with caution.

  • Oscour®: 148 emergency room visits for influenza or influenza-like illness, representing 0.6% of total activity (same as in Week 05), of which 13% resulted in hospitalization. More than 75% of visits involved children under 15 years of age (81% in week 06) and, more specifically, children under 5 years of age (51% compared to 56% in week 06).

  • Virology data:

    • Influenza A: 11 positive samples at Bordeaux University Hospital, 12 at Limoges University Hospital, and 38 at Poitiers University Hospital, representing a regional positivity rate of 10% (8% in week 06)Influenza B: no positive samples at Bordeaux, Limoges, or Poitiers University Hospitals

    • Influenza B: no positive samples at the Bordeaux, Limoges, and Poitiers University Hospitals
