Key Points

Chikungunya, dengue, Zika

  • 462 confirmed or probable cases of imported dengue fever were investigated in the Île-de-France region.

COVID-19

  • The number of SOS Médecins calls (excluding Val-d’Oise) and the proportion of cases involving suspected COVID-19 decreased in Week 42. This downward trend applied to all age groups.

  • The number of emergency department visits and the proportion of cases involving suspected COVID-19 decreased in week 42. Among those under 65, case numbers remained low.

  • The number of emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19 followed by hospitalization remained relatively stable in week 42. Hospitalizations primarily involved people aged 65 and older.

Bronchiolitis

  • Increase in emergency department visits for bronchiolitis among children under one year of age and stabilization of visits followed by hospitalization compared to week 41.

  • Decrease in calls to SOS Médecins for bronchiolitis among children under two years of age.

  • The All Saints’ Day holiday is usually associated with a decrease, followed by a resurgence of the epidemic.

Influenza

  • In hospitals, activity levels related to influenza-like illness remained low in Week 42, although indicators were rising compared to Week 41.

  • In the community, requests for care for influenza-like illness were increasing at SOS Médecins and decreasing in the Sentinelles network.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Increase in the number of SOS Médecins visits for acute gastroenteritis among children under 15, stabilization among adults

  • Decrease in emergency department visits and hospitalizations for acute gastroenteritis across all age groups.

  • Indicators stable in the Sentinelles network.

  • Low activity levels at SOS Médecins clinics and in hospital emergency departments.
