Individual Monitoring

  • 138 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in French Guiana, representing 13 additional cases compared to the last epidemiological update dated April 29, 2020

  • Two cases imported from Brazil were detected this week

  • 40% of cases are linked to local transmission

  • 17 clusters, including 2 where the most recent case occurred less than 14 days ago

  • The highest rates of confirmed cases per 100,000 inhabitants since March 4 (detection of the first case) are observed in the municipalities of Saint-Georges and Grand-Santi

Surveillance by the Sentinel Physician Network

  • 20 (tele)consultations for acute respiratory infection (ARI) per 100,000 inhabitants in primary care during week S2020-18, corresponding to low viral circulation

  • A portion of these ARIs could be attributed to COVID-19

  • Surveillance of hospitalizations and deaths (source: SI-VIC)

  • 6 current hospitalizations

  • Since late February, 44 hospitalizations, including 3 in intensive care, with one death among them.

Laboratory surveillance

  • 2,445 samples analyzed since late February: average positivity rate of 8%
