COVID-19

In week 02-2023, SARS-CoV-2 circulation decreased in the Grand Est region:

  • The incidence rate continues to fall in week 02-2023 (64 cases per 100,000 inhabitants compared to 103 in week 52-2022).

  • The incidence rate is declining across all age groups, except among those aged 0–19, where it is stabilizing. The most significant decrease is observed among those aged 60–69 (-48%).

  • The positivity rate (7.5%) continues to decline compared to the previous week.

  • The testing rate is 940 tests per 100,000 inhabitants in week 02-2023. It is decreasing across all age groups, with a more pronounced decrease among those aged 20–29 (-30%).

Bronchiolitis

  • OSCOUR®: In week 02-2023, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age continued to decline. It stands at 7.8%, representing 85 visits. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is declining, standing at 18% in week 02-2023.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 02-2023, the proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age was 7.4%, stable compared to week 01-2023.

  • Virology data: According to results from the virology laboratories at the University Hospitals of Strasbourg and Nancy, in week 02-2023, the circulation of RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) continues to decline.

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses

  • OSCOUR®: In week 02-2023, the number of emergency department visits for influenza-like illness, across all ages, is down sharply compared to the previous week (251 versus 469 in week 01-2023). The proportion of cases is also declining, with 1.2% of emergency department visits related to influenza.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, across all age groups, is down compared to the previous week (614 consultations versus 860 in W01-2023), representing a share of activity of nearly 9.6%.
