Health Monitoring in the Grand Est Region. Bulletin of October 9, 2025.

Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • Indicators have been rising since weeks 2025–36 (in emergency departments) and 2025–37 (SOS Médecins). They remain comparable to what was observed during the same period last season.

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses

  • Influenza indicators are at baseline levels. Regional virological data are detecting a few sporadic cases, as expected at this time of year.

COVID-19

  • All surveillance indicators have been rising since week 2025-30 (mid-July), reflecting increased viral circulation of the XFG variant classified as VUM1 (not of concern). This has no significant impact on the healthcare system: diagnosed or suspected COVID-19 cases account for 0.7% of emergency room visits and 2.2% of SOS Médecins consultations in the region.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • No significant increase in indicators has been observed.
