Epidemiological Surveillance in the Alsace Region. Update as of September 18, 2014.

Highlights

  • With the end of summer vacation, activity at the region’s SOS Médecins associations is slowly picking up, with a more pronounced trend in Mulhouse, where there was a significant increase in activity during week 37.

  • Over the past few weeks, allergy-related activity has remained low for both SOS Médecins associations in the region.

  • According to the National Aerobiological Surveillance Network (RNSA), grass and nettle pollen are present in Alsace, but the allergy risk is very low.

  • Regarding asthma, a clear increase in the number of diagnoses was observed in week 37 for the SOS Médecins association in Mulhouse. This trend was not observed for the association in Strasbourg.

  • Since early August, activity related to heat-related illnesses has been low to nonexistent.
