Gaining a better understanding of their family situation and paying attention to their professional lives [Interview].
At the Neufchâteau middle and high school, the idea of preventing students from dropping out early came from the teachers themselves. Shared assessment of students’ difficulties, tutoring, and personalized support are the cornerstones of the program to combat dropout rates. To date, fifteen volunteer teachers are mentoring ten students as part of educational partnerships that involve parents. Among the paradoxes observed, tutoring helps students reestablish better communication with their own parents.
