Key Points

COVID-19

  • In Week 09, the incidence rate (IR), testing rate (TR), and positivity rate (PR) remained stable.

  • Oscour®: Stable number of emergency department visits in Week 09 (22 visits); 46% of visits resulted in hospitalization in Week 09 (compared to 69% in Week 08). Suspected COVID-19 cases accounted for 0.1% of emergency department activity across all age groups (compared to 0.2% in Week 08).

  • SOS Médecins: low number of SOS Médecins consultations (32 consultations in S09 compared to 26 in S08). Suspected COVID-19 cases accounted for 0.8% of SOS Médecins activity in S09 (compared to 0.7% in S08).

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses

  • Epidemic activity, declining phase.

  • Very slight increase in SOS Médecins consultations and stabilization of emergency room visits.

  • Decrease in influenza B virus circulation according to the virology laboratories at the Rennes and Brest University Hospitals.

  • Circulation of influenza A virus is low but persistent.

Acute gastroenteritis

  • High activity.

  • Decrease in emergency room visits (all ages combined) and increase in SOS Médecins consultations among children.

Bronchiolitis

  • End of the epidemic.

  • End of seasonal surveillance.
