Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of October 11, 2012

Key Findings

Three clusters of Legionnaires' disease cases were suspected based on mandatory reports received by the Regional Health Agencies (ARS) in the two regions: two cases from the same family in Franche-Comté and two clusters (one in Burgundy, one in Franche-Comté) involving two cases living a few kilometers apart. Case interviews using a standardized questionnaire (which identifies places visited) and water samples taken from the suspected facilities have already ruled out the possibility of a common source of Legionella exposure for two of these outbreaks.
