Health Monitoring in the Bourgogne and Franche-Comté Regions. Update as of February 24, 2022.

Key Points

COVID-19

The circulation of SARS-CoV-2 in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté continues to decline for the third consecutive week amid a decrease in testing (which is underestimated due to the absence of self-test results in the SI-DEP database). However, incidence and positivity rates remain very high.

The impact of the epidemic on hospital activity at the regional level is characterized by a decrease in the use of emergency care, as well as a decrease in routine hospitalizations and admissions to critical care units. The number of deaths in hospitals is stable this week.

Influenza

  • The region is in the pre-epidemic phase for the 8th consecutive week

  • Activity levels at SOS Médecins and in emergency departments are moderate

  • No new severe cases of influenza reported by the intensive care unit sentinel network (a total of 4 influenza cases admitted to intensive care since late 2021) nor any outbreaks of acute respiratory infection (ARI) in communities (4 ongoing outbreaks / 20 reported since September 1, 2021. Among the reports, 3 are linked to influenza)

Bronchiolitis

  • Although the number of procedures was increasing, the activity rate of SOS Médecins associations is within the ranges observed in the two previous seasons

  • Although the number of emergency room visits was increasing, the activity rate for emergency room visits is low compared to the two previous seasons during the same period

Acute gastroenteritis

  • SOS Médecins activity continues to rise, exceeding the levels of the two previous seasons

  • The rate of emergency department visits for gastroenteritis has decreased slightly but remains at a high level compared to the two previous seasons
