Influenza Surveillance in the Auvergne Region – Situation as of February 6, 2014 All indicators are rising sharply, marking the onset of an epidemic phase in the region.The incidence of influenza-like illnesses (Sentinelles-Grog unified network), as reported in general practice, is estimated at 302 cases per 100,000 inhabitants—a sharp increase and above the regional epidemic threshold. The epidemic threshold calculated using SOS-médecin data has also been exceeded for the past two weeks. Activity data from the emergency departments and the virology laboratory at the University Hospital also highlight this marked increase.
