In Week 19, the decline in SARS-CoV-2 circulation and hospital indicators continued throughout the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Community transmission remains active, but the impact on hospitals is now more limited, with 43 new admissions to intensive care for COVID-19 in Week 19 in the region.
Influenza
End of the epidemic.
During Week 19, in hospital settings, according to data from the Oscour® network, emergency department visits of all ages in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for a diagnosis of influenza/influenza-like illness continued to decline. In Week 19, 68 emergency department visits for influenza/influenza-like illness were recorded (-38.7% compared to Week 18), representing 0.2% of all emergency department visits across all age groups (unchanged from Week 18). Of these 68 visits, 6 were followed by hospitalization, representing a hospitalization rate of 8.8% for this diagnosis, slightly lower than in Week 18. Hospitalizations for influenza/influenza-like illness accounted for 0.1% of all hospitalizations in Week 19, a slight decrease compared to the previous week.
