City-wide surveillance

  • SOS Médecins: 771 cases of suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 in S17 (863/10,000 in S16)

  • Sentinelles Network: 71 consultations for acute respiratory infections per 100,000 inhabitants in S17 (97/100,000 in S16)

  • Community laboratories: 1,342 positive tests in S17 (1,849 in S16)

Surveillance in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes

  • 11,130 confirmed or suspected cases (residents and staff), including 1,357 reported deaths as of April 27, 2020

Hospital surveillance

  • Emergency departments: 449 visits for suspected COVID-19 per 10,000 in Week 17 (710 per 10,000 in Week 16)

  • Hospital laboratories: 708 positive tests in Week 17 (1,184 in Week 16)

  • SI-VIC: 2,610 people hospitalized, including 406 in intensive care as of April 28, 2020

  • Sentinel intensive care units: 58% of cases aged 65 and older, 73% are men, 71% have ARDS, 62% of cases have at least one risk factor.

Mortality monitoring

  • Excess mortality from all causes remains high in week 16 (+33%); this excess has been observed in the region since week 13.

  • 67% of those who died in the hospital are over 80 years old.

  • 1,275 deaths in hospitals and 1,032 deaths in long-term care facilities related to COVID-19
