Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The flu epidemic has been ongoing in Martinique for 10 consecutive weeks. Co-circulation of the Influenza A/H3, A(H1N1)pdm09, and B viruses is currently being observed in the region. The incidence of the disease during the last week of February (Week 2013-09) was 374 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a figure well below that observed in mainland France. To limit the risk of transmission, wash your hands several times a day with soap or use a hand sanitizer, and when you sneeze or cough, cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or a disposable tissue. If you have flu-like symptoms, call your primary care physician and contact 15 only in case of an emergency.
