Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The number of influenza-like illnesses seen in general practice has exceeded expected peak levels for the past eight weeks. During the last three weeks of February, all epidemiological surveillance indicators point to an intensification of the influenza epidemic in Guadeloupe. The opinion of the Expert Committee on Infectious and Emerging Diseases, which met on March 13, 2014, supports this assessment. The circulating subtypes identified at the beginning of 2014 correspond to the AH3, AH1N1, and B viruses.
