Epidemiological surveillance indicators, particularly the number of clinically suspected cases of gastroenteritis seen in private medical practices, show that the gastroenteritis outbreak is continuing in Guadeloupe. However, the number of emergency room visits for gastroenteritis remains stable at low levels.

REMINDER: To limit the spread of the viruses causing this emerging outbreak, it is essential to follow basic hygiene rules, particularly regular handwashing with soap. Parents are reminded that if their children (especially young children) exhibit symptoms of gastroenteritis (diarrhea, vomiting), they should consult their primary care physician to prevent dehydration, which can be severe in infants.
