Influenza Surveillance in the Caribbean. Update as of November 24, 2022.

Key Points

  • Martinique: In the epidemic phase since Week 41, influenza indicators have been declining since Week 44 in outpatient settings and hospitals; only type A virus was identified in Week 46. The epidemic is in a downward phase, but this trend needs to be confirmed in the coming weeks.

  • Guadeloupe: Hospital-based influenza surveillance indicators remained low in week 46; however, one admission to the intensive care unit was recorded in week 44; outpatient visits for influenza have remained at high levels for several consecutive weeks; the situation continues to be closely monitored.

  • Saint Martin and Saint Barthélemy: The first suspected cases have been reported in recent weeks; the trend should be closely monitored.
