Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

The flu epidemic has been ongoing in Martinique for 8 weeks. The incidence of the disease in week 2013-07 was 443 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, a figure well below that observed in mainland France. Influenza A and B viruses have been identified by the virology laboratory at the Martinique University Hospital since the beginning of 2013.

To limit the risk of transmission, wash your hands several times a day with soap or use a hand sanitizer, and when you sneeze or cough, cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or a disposable tissue. If you have flu-like symptoms, call your primary care physician and contact 15 only in case of an emergency.
