Dengue Surveillance in Martinique. Update as of November 28, 2019.

Epidemiological Situation

The dengue virus continues to circulate in Martinique, with:

  • Continued reporting of biologically confirmed cases (19 cases in week 2019-47);

  • An overall upward trend in the estimated number of clinically suggestive cases seen in private practice since September, with a slight decline over the past two weeks (40 cases in week 2019-47);

  • Two identified and still active outbreaks over the past 4 weeks (the municipalities of Vauclin and Sainte-Luce);

  • Four newly affected municipalities are reporting confirmed cases of dengue: Schoelcher, Ducos, Le François, and Rivière-Salée.

It is therefore important to remain vigilant given the current trends in dengue epidemiological surveillance indicators.
