Dengue Surveillance in Martinique. Update as of November 21, 2019.

Epidemiological Situation

The dengue virus continues to circulate in Martinique, with:

  • Continued reporting of biologically confirmed cases (4 cases in week 2019-46);

  • A steady upward trend in the estimated number of clinically suggestive cases seen in private practice (75 cases in week 2019-46);

  • Two identified and active outbreaks over the past 4 weeks (the municipalities of Vauclin and Sainte-Luce);

  • Three newly affected municipalities reporting confirmed cases of dengue (Le Morne-Rouge, Rivière-Pilote, and Sainte-Anne);

It is therefore advisable to remain vigilant given the current trend of rising epidemiological surveillance indicators for dengue.
